Billion Dollar Buyout
Is anyone else struggling with this whole idea of spending $700 billion dollars to buy out a bunch of corporations that made some really awful business decisions?
I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the concept. Don't get me wrong, I understand basic economics, and I understand that the politicians believe that this is necessary to keep the United States economy afloat. However, the other thing I understand is that taking this money away from social programs, from the taxpayers, and giving it to a bunch of companies who have screwed millions of Americans out of their homes and good credit ratings, seems pretty corrupt.
The US economy is on its way down regardless. The US has caught the ebola virus, so watch out Canada and Mexico, you should at least end up with some serious yellow fever. It's all thanks to the consumption whores known as the American masses, who rather than save for a day when oil prices go past $200 a barrel, bought plasma screens on their Amexs.
With a balance of trade deficeit and an unwinnable war devaluing the greenback for the past 5 years, everyone should have seen this coming. Now the rose coloured glasses are off, and we will all just have to hold our breath, and wait to see if the most powerful hegemon since Rome will collapse in our lifetime.

Actually its not the
Actually its not the companies that screwed Mr. and Mrs Joe tax payer. The government did... First they spent way more then they should have. But most importantly is the fact that the way the stock market works in the states is really poor. Basically the idea was to put in 700 billion in order to have others invest and get the markets stable again. 700 billion is alot of money buy they say it's more of a investment.... but that won't work... seems like a bad idea. But then again the government is good a tossing money away... Look how much they invested in Iraq and to find what's his name...
